Honor Flight Tables and Chairs
First Reformed is helping with the Honor Flight event to be held on the evening of Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Lowe’s parking lot on Westnedge. We are bringing tables and chairs for the event. Please contact Dan Kalleward (info in Church Center Directory) or call the office if you’d like to help.
Church Roof Repairs
There has been progress on a couple of roofing issues this past week. There were missing shingles from the tornado last year on the barn roof. We finally made contact with our insurance adjuster on that particular issue and the quote and repair process is moving forward. And today, a leak spot that degraded some decking on the front (West-facing) roof of the education wing (just above the women’s restroom) is being addressed today. The cause was missing flashing where the fascia met the valley.
Tid-bits
- Alyssa (Kirby) and David Pfiefer have moved back from Colorado and now live in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
- A new intern candidate has interviewed with Consistory and is moving forward in the process. His name is Derek and he is interested in serving in the maintenance and tech areas. We hope to have a final decision in a couple weeks.
- Congrats to Evie Douglass and her Varsity Mattawan Tennis Team for winning regionals and advancing to the State Tournament.
- The softball team blew a commanding lead to lose by 1 run Monday night. We accept this as part of God’s plan to award Ric Kleiman our first win for his birthday next week.
- This Sunday will be the final Adult Sunday School class following the service. Kyle will be filling in for Chris and we will be finishing the video series “Can I Trust the Bible?”.
- Middle School YG Frisbee Golf event Saturday at 11:00 AM!!
