Baptism!

Baptism is an important step for a disciple of Jesus. It’s a public profession of repentance and symbol of “dying” to our old sinful self and raising up to a new life of obedience to God. We have a couple people interested in getting baptized and would like to open up a broader invite to anyone else interested in taking this step of faith. If you have not been baptized but would be interested in doing so in the next few weeks, please reach out to Kyle. One of the high school students would like to be baptized in a lake before heading off to college, so the plan would be to hold an outdoor service nearby shortly. The process for getting baptized includes meeting initially with Kyle, getting Consistory’s blessing, then being baptized. Please reach out if you’d like more info or would like to join. We will share the date and location as soon as we receive responses.

Youth Group Mission Days

The High School Youth Group is serving around Portage this upcoming week, including a free car wash on Monday (10-4) in the church parking lot, volunteering with the Portage Parks department, spending time with Seniors at Medilodge and more. Participants will arrive every day at 8:00 AM, have a devo time, serve from 9-4ish, then have a debrief and head home. The group will also be watching for opportunities to interact with and maybe even witness to community members. Please pray for the group, for servant attitudes, joy and for the logistics to work out well.

Summer Church Picnic – July 29, 6-8 PM

Let’s party! We’ll have a packed couple of hours together at the “Carnival”, enjoying hamburgers, corndogs, popcorn, ice cream and all the fixin’s. Dunk some old guys in the dunk tank, enjoy bingo, games for kids and new this year: a Bible skit! Tables and chairs will be provided for seniors; everyone else bring lawn chairs. Everything else is provided and FREE but please sign up using the bulletin form or here on Church Center so we can make sure there’s plenty of food. See you Tuesday, July 29, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM, in the church parking lot.
