Beware of Phishing Scams
We want to make everyone aware that there is a scammer contacting various people in the congregation pretending to be a member of church and asking for a copy of our directory. Please do not respond to any request like this (even to say no). Do not share people’s numbers or emails from Church Center. Everyone who is a legitimate attender of our church can contact us in the office or should be able to access the directory for themselves. If you aren’t sure if something is legitimate or not, please contact Kyle.
Keith Lohman’s Race for Shalom
Many of you know Keith as he was a helpful advocate for us as we transitioned from the RCA to the ARC. Keith is the director of Shalom in Kalamazoo, which provides residency and work opportunities for people with special needs. They have a farm, woolery, store and other facets of care. They also are the real shepherds of Bethlehem Journey, providing the live sheep for the event. Shalom has been expanding and with new housing comes new furnishing needs. To raise the funds to furnish the new facilities, Keith is running the Boston Marathon. But Keith has his own struggle and was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Despite the diagnosis and treatment, Keith has kept at his training (he just finished radiation). He still plans to race on April 20.
Keith will be joining us for Family Fun at First on March 4, 2026, to share about Shalom, the race and his journey. We are hoping First will respond generously to Keith’s fundraising efforts to support the work of Shalom.
Kyle and Brian Get Coffee
This Sunday, the sermon will be in a slightly different format. A sort of “deep breath” after the God in the Box Series, Kyle and Brian Clark will chat together as they do every other week in a coffee shop to talk about life and encourage everyone to find a friend who can walk alongside them through the ups and downs. Sparked from their recent get-together where Brian shared some of the simple truths God had been reminding him of lately, their hope is that you will be encouraged by the foundational truths of Gospel like they have.
