Support Shalom via Keith in Boston
Please continue to pray and consider some financial support for Keith Lohman as he prepares to run the Boston Marathon on April 20th, 2026. He’s fundraising to furnish the new housing built for Shalom Ministries in Kalamazoo, a place that serves special need residents with housing and work opportunities. Donations can be given through First Reformed using the special envelopes and put in the offering plate or by giving online through Church Center. To designate the gift to Shalom, simply choose Shalom in the Fund drop down before confirming the payment.
See you at Easter
Kyle will be out of town the next two weekends, first to take Charlotte to a volleyball tournament in Indianapolis and then on a Spring Break vacation to FL with his family. Pastor Steve will be manning the ship for the next two Sundays. Please be nice to him. Also, we will have Communion on Palm Sunday.
For Easter weekend, don’t forget about the pancake breakfast and egg hunt on Saturday, 4/4 starting at 8:30 AM. And for Easter Sunday, we’re excited to baptize two young men (Matthew and Olan). What a way to celebrate Christ’s resurrection! Then, a couple of weeks later, we will baptize one of our interns, Drew. How good to see Jesus’s life-giving Spirit active in our church family!
Supporting Tree/Path of Life Schools in Kalamazoo
Recently, Kyle has started teaching the Social/Emotional Learning Class on Monday’s at Path of Life High School in Kalamazoo. This is a Christian school specifically helping Kalamazoo students who struggle in regular public school settings. The focus is on personal discipleship and job training in addition to regular classwork. The school is small currently (about 13 students), though the Elementary school (Tree of Life) is larger and more established. The school is holding an annual open house and fundraiser on 5/1/26 from 6:00-8:00 PM. It will be a great opportunity to learn a little more about the ministry there and possibly help a needed ministry in our community.
