Church Picnic this Tuesday!

Don’t forget to join the party this upcoming Tuesday night 7/28. It’s our annual church picnic, potluck style! Festivities will start at 6:00pm. If you’re able, bring a dish to share: main dish, side dish, or dessert. We will have place settings, drinks and seating for our seniors. For everyone else, we recommend a picnic blanket or lawn chairs.

There will be some games and activities for all ages. In the case of rain, we’l move the party inside. See you there!

Free Books

Roger and Maggie Bus are prepping for a move this Fall and have cleaned out many of their books. There are boxes of these books in the chapel and they are free to pick through. Take whatever might be beneficial to you. The rest will be picked through for adding to our library, with the remaining being donated.

Cedar Point – August 7-9

The Middle and High School youth groups will be going to Cedar Point in a couple weeks. They are camping in Sandusky Friday and Saturday night and enjoying the park all day Saturday. Cost is $75/person. Everyone in the student ministry should have received an email with the link to registration but here it is again if needed: https://frcportage.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3772242. Please pray for good weather, great attendance, and short lines!

Looking for a car

Hi, all. Kyle here. I and the deacons have been working with a young man and his wife who are currently homeless and staying at a local motel. After some initial benevolence help both from the church and individuals in our church, progress is being made in getting them back on their feet. The young man has been working with Kyle on side jobs and using his car to do food deliveries. We’ve been able to cancel some debts and monthly subscriptions, get them access to a PO Box and secure a working phone so they can access the delivery apps and communicate with potential employers. Additionally, we’ve been talking to Urban Alliance and he is on the waiting list for the Momentum program. In the mean time, with the help of the vehicle, they’ve been able to pay for the majority of their motel fees, and the young man has just been hired at UPS in Kalamazoo! We are now looking to help them secure their own vehicle so he has reliable transportation to work and can continue delivering. We’ve established a budget of $1,500-$2,000. If you have a vehicle that is in working condition (or close to working condition) and would be able to sell it for around that price, please contact me.
