While it’s snowing, let’s talk Christmas…

Too soon? Nah! Christmas 2025 will be here before we know it. The Team Leaders took a large portion of their meeting last night to recap this past Bethlehem Journey and identifying improvements for next year. We are excited to update some of our set, make signup easier for volunteers, improve our waiting time with more interaction in the sanctuary, and possibly involve another partner church. The dates for next year are December 4, 5 and 6. It’s not too late to express interest in cast parts or helping with set repair/updates. Contact Kyle for more information.

Student Ministry Reading Party

The youth groups will be meeting at Kyle and Nikki’s house this Sunday night for a “Reading Party”. They recently finished their study of the book of Ezekiel and are working through 1 Peter next. A reading party is how our student ministry kicks off the study of a new book, by gathering together and reading the book out loud together as many times as they can (for shorter books) or to get as far as they can (for longer books) before the end of the meeting. There are pizza and snack breaks periodically, but mostly just reading. It’s so cool to see kids soaking up God’s word together to set the stage for their upcoming discussions.

Lent and Ash Wednesday

The season of Lent is a traditional period of a little over a month leading up to Easter Sunday. It’s a time of fasting and reflection to prepare to absorb the work of Christ on the cross. John Medema (Prayer Team) will again be organizing an Ash Wednesday event on March 5, 2025. The church will be open all day to our church and the community for personal prayer and reflection. The sanctuary will have some visuals set up and a booklet of scriptures will be provided. Would you consider some way to fast this Lent and participate in Ash Wednesday?
