Meeting with Kyle…no you’re not in trouble!
As many of you know, Cindi has been helping Kyle schedule meetings with everyone in the church and we appreciate those of you who have responded and scheduled a meet up! This is NOT being called into the principle’s office (that would be a meeting with Steve); it’s Kyle’s part of Operation Get-together. His goal is to meet with everyone in the church at least once by the end of the year. There’s no agenda besides having a chat and getting caught up. If you haven’t been called yet, don’t worry, you should receive a call from Cindi (or an email) in the next couple weeks. If you know of anyone who doesn’t get a call, please let us know! It’s possible we don’t have his/her info.
And don’t forget your Operation Get-together Challenge: meet up with at least 6 other people/couples/families (not related to you) by the end of the year.
Lent, Ash Wednesday, and Communion
The season of Lent is a traditional period of a little over a month leading up to Easter Sunday. It’s a time of fasting and reflection to prepare to absorb the work of Christ on the cross. John Medema (Prayer Team) will again be organizing an Ash Wednesday event on March 5, 2025. The church will open at 6:00 AM to our church and the community for personal prayer and reflection. The sanctuary will have some visuals set up and a booklet of scriptures will be provided. Would you consider some way to fast this Lent and participate in Ash Wednesday?
Additionally, we will have Communion on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast
The Education and Church Life Teams are putting on a “Brunch and Hunt” Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter (April 19th). Breakfast will start at 9:00 AM followed by two outdoor Egg Hunts: Toddler-2nd grade at 9:30 AM, then a 3rd-6th at 10:00 AM. We won’t be advertising this to the general community but welcome you to personally invite friends looking for a church home.
We will need extra help for this event. Please contact Sarah Byholt or Kelli Hoeksema if you can volunteer. Their info can be found in the Church Center Directory or by contacting the office.
Family Fun at First with Shalom
Family Fun at First is this upcoming Wednesday (3/5) at 6:00 PM with Spaghetti and Meatballs, salad and dessert. Shalom will be presenting about their ministry to those with special needs in Kalamazoo. The meal is free (donations accepted) and please RSVP using the box in the lobby or by emailing the office.
