Happy New Year!
We just want to say welcome to 2026 and remind you of the cool church wide “challenges” that start today.
First, Pray!
If you missed this past Sunday, you may have missed Kyle’s challenge to make this a year of prayer. A prayer guide was handed out for January, 2026. Each month, a new guide will be made so you can pray the same prayer daily with your church family. You can use each day’s prayer as a single prayer, a “launchpad” for talking with God, or a meditation that you repeat throughout the day. Pray it by yourself or with a spouse, family member or friend. We hope you find it a helpful tool to grow (which means growing closer to Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Grab a physical copy of the guide at church or use the pdf (attached to the email version of this update). Missed the sermon? It’s available in video and audio in Church Center or through our podcast on Apple or Spotify. Go here for more info.
January 1’s prayer:
“Father, you are indescribably good. I want to know you more. Please help me understand you more by the end of the day than I do right now. Open my eyes. Help me see you more clearly.”
Keep Reading that Bible!
Wow, it was VERY COOL seeing 60 some people read through the whole Bible in 2025. Great job to everyone who made it all the way through (Kyle caught up and finished!!) and all who gave it a shot even if you didn’t finish. We are going to do the challenge again and here are some thoughts:
- If you completed the whole plan but starting over doesn’t sound “fun”, try using a different version of the Bible to hear things in a slightly different way.
- Or, pick another Bible reading plan and grab some friends or family members to read with you.
- If you didn’t finish the whole plan: 1) keep going! Who cares if it takes you two or three years to complete? You’re reading the Bible! or 2) Just start over. You’ll still get a lot from rereading what you’ve already gone through.
- Whatever you do, keep forming the habit of daily study in God’s word.
- For those giving it a go for the first time this year or going through it again, we will figure out this week how to start a new 2026 group that everyone (who wants to) can be in together.
Communion
We celebrate communion this Sunday, starting the year off by remembering the body and blood of Christ.
Bulletin Redesign
Our first bulletin redesign is this Sunday. We are freshening things up by trying four different designs over the next four weeks. Please feel free to share your thoughts about all aspects of the bulletin (color, layout, content, shape, etc.) each week or in February. We will use those thoughts to land on a final version. Email suggestions to Kyle.
