Family Fun at First TONIGHT (Tech and Christmas)
Don’t forget, tonight is 2026’s first Family Fun at First full of food, fellowship, fun, finding friendship and a freaky fantastic tech presentation. Come at 6 for dinner, then Kyle will present a training on using the Church Center App and Right Now Media, plus take questions about any other technology we are using.
Then, for those able and willing, we will start cleaning up our Christmas decorations. If you happen to only come for the clean up, please be sure to meet down in the Fellowship Hall at 7:30 (or the end of the tech presentation) for some initial instructions, or find Kyle or Kelli Hoeksema when you arrive. We want to do it as fast and efficiently as possible but also neatly and organized.
Student Ministry Update
After a few breaks this December and a slow end to the year, we’ll open 2026 with one of our biggest events of the year: Ice Camp. In a few weeks, we’ll travel to Miracle Camp and Retreat Center as a youth group to enjoy some time outdoors and grow in the Lord. If we don’t get enough time outside in the cold, we’ll follow up Ice Camp with an event in February where we sled behind ATVs… I promise the students love it.
Overall, the youth group wanted to update everyone on some upcoming news in our area and extend a thank‑you for all the support. Genuinely, as a group, we feel so loved by the church through the continuous showering of candy, advice, and love that each and every member of the congregation has shown us. Thank you for showing us how to love like Christ.
Ben Is Our New Worship Intern!
Consistory approved and Ben accepted an official offer to be a Worship Arts Intern starting mid-January. Ben is currently on vacation with his family but will start moving in to the parsonage as soon as he returns. The first month will be getting Ben oriented with his living arrangements and responsibilities on the Worship Team. He will start by leading worship once a month, through the Spring, then moving to a more evenly shared role with Jan as his experience grows. We are excited to help Ben develop is passion for leading worship and for the fresh perspective he will bring to the worship team.
This is also a great time to get involved in the Worship Team or Band, whether you are a musician, vocalist or have an interest in tech. The team will be meeting more regularly this year to shape together the vision of our Sunday morning worship and find opportunities for those with gifts in music to participate. We want to grow a thriving music ministry here, and we start now. Talk with Jan or Kyle if you’d like to know more, or be on the look out for upcoming opportunities.
