Detroit Tigers Game!

Hop on a charter bus and go watch the Tigers whoop the Astros on August 18, 2025, with a bunch of church friends. This event is open to all ages, young and old, and we hope it’s a great time of fellowship and fun for all. We will leave from church at 3:30 PM for the 6:40 PM game, and plan to be back at church before midnight. The charter bus has bathrooms and makes for a stress free evening (you can even sleep on the way back if you need to work in the morning). Our seats are all together in home run territory in left field. Cost is $50/person, or you can choose the $75 registration to help us cover your full cost. Food can be packed or bought at the park. If money is a barrier, please contact Kyle as we want anyone available to be able to attend. And this is a great way to introduce friends to First!

Sign up here: https://frcportage.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3053479, call the office or use the form in the bulletin. Seats are first come first serve. See you at the ball game!

Summer Picnic this Tuesday!

It’s gonna be a party with over 100 people signed up for the Carnival-themed picnic on Tuesday, July 29th, from 6-8 PM. Enjoy food, treats, games and a Bible skit. The cost is free, but please sign up on Church Center so we can estimate food. No need to bring anything except chairs (though about 60 chairs and table spots will be set up for our seniors).

A Powerful Baptism Ceremony

It was a special evening this past Monday as Hayden, Maddi, Jake, and Ryan shared their testimonies, publicly proclaiming their faith in Christ and being baptized on an ideal summer evening. There were over 100 church friends and family supporting them, while community members swam, sunbathed and listened in. There was a gentlemen that approached Kyle after asking about the possibility of getting baptized and we were excited to share ice cream with some of the kids who were there to swim. Thank you to all who made time to attend and for those praying and supporting these young people. One of the consistent parts of the testimonies was how loving the church family has been. Well done.
