Tigers Game! – August 24, 2026
Take me out to the ball game…on a charter bus! We’re headed to watch the Detroit boys whoop Tampa Bay on Monday night, August 24, 2026. 6:40 game time, but we’re going to leave a little earlier this year to hopefully have a little extra time in the park and see some warm ups. The bus will leave from church at 2:00pm. Cost this year is $90, but there is a $75 option if that makes it a little easier. And student ministry attenders get will get an additional discout, so bring them friends! You can sign up and pay right in Church Center or register and bring a check to church. Great Party!
Thanks to everyone who came out for another perfect summer evening last night at our annual Church Picnic! The temp was excellent (especially after the sun dropped below the church) and the food was even better. Apparently, dodge balls are the most loved game for all ages and it was great seeing all the pickel ball action, bag throwing and bouncy house happenings. And in case anyone was wondering, Ian was able to knock his shoe out of the pine tree. Thank you to the many people who planned, made food, and helped setup and tear down. Events like this make church fun, and we all need that!
Jan’s Announcement
For those who couldn’t attend this Sunday, Jan Meyer, our worship director, announced her upcoming retirement date as October 4. Jan has been serving faithfully for nearly 60 years in some capacity for music ministry here at First. Now at 86 years young, and with Ben here to help ease the transition, she feels it’s time to step down from her leadership role on the Praise Team. She is looking forward to playing the occasional prelude, offertory or special music, but with more time to be with Bill (and fewer emails to send out!). Plans for a party will be underway, but on behalf of both the leadership and congregation, we celebrate and appreciate all that Jan has brought to First Reformed over her long, faithful tenure.
