Family Fun at First Tonight!
Join us for pizza and out of the box thinking tonight at 6:00pm for FFF. It’s a free meal and a nice time to catch up with some friends.
Thank You Service Saturday Volunteers!
The Service Saturday this weekend wasn’t highly attended, but we still got quite a bit done! We got all around the pole barn cleaned up, trees trimmed in the yard and off the barn, basketball backboards installed, the turn around yard edged and the front sidewalk edged (got about 12″ of cement back). Plus the church life team got their storage moved and arranged. These small jobs keep our facility clean, functioning well, and show that we are proud of what we offer here. Thank you to those who came out to help and we will be having more Service Saturdays in the future (hopefully at least once per quarter). We do have some more edging to do and a few jobs that would be nice to finish before snow flies. If you’re available to help, please contact Tom Byholt or Pastor Kyle.
Sign up to Act in Bethlehem Journey
I had a conversation with a Portage resident today that I’ve never met. In the conversation, it came up that I was a pastor and then the second typical question of where came up. After I shared that it was First Reformed, he said, “Oh, the living nativity church. Our family loves that every year. We were so bummed the year you guys took off.” I love those kinds of conversations because they remind me that what we do matters to our community. Our month of intense effort each year has become a regular part of people’s celebration of Jesus. And it’s another possible connection for people not yet a part of church family.
So please consider being a part of this event! Sign up in Church Center by going to Groups/Bethlehem Journey 2025 and request to join the group. Or sign up in the lobby on the sign up by the office.
